# createExternalPayee

> Add an external bank account that the authenticated user's account can send money to.

Add an external bank account that the authenticated user's account can send money to with [`createExternalPayout`](https://docs.fluz.app/api-reference/mutations/create-external-payout).
Re-adding the same routing and account number returns the existing payee instead of creating a second one, and restores a payee that was removed.
Adding a bank account that belongs to the authenticated user's own Fluz account is refused.
Requires MAKE\_PAYOUT\_TRANSFER\_SEND scope.

## Arguments

**input** `CreateExternalPayeeInput!` *required*

The bank account details of the payee.

## Returns

[`ExternalPayee`](https://docs.fluz.app/api-reference/types/external-payee) — The saved payee. The full account number is never returned.
